The role you’ll contribute:
The manager of business operations works with the AVP of Surgical Services to provide overall administrative management and coordination of administrative functions including finance, budget (operational and capital), policy, and revenue cycle. This includes preparation of monthly variance reporting at the department level and monitoring and controlling capital. Assist leadership in building Surgical/Procedural Services budgets. Collaborates with PFS team to manage payment methodologies. Accountable for correlation and expenditure of invoices. Analyze financial statement trends and report findings to appropriate Leadership. Evaluate the reimbursement of hospital programs to determine the profitability of service lines. Use cost/managerial accounting techniques to review and explain productivity. Prepare reports as needed, reviewing work for reasonability, and producing highly predictable, accurate results. Day-to-day responsibilities require good use of judgment regarding timely and appropriate communication with the hospital staff. Recognizes the need for teamwork and functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Assist in non-clinical management of Surgical/Procedural Services departments when needed.
The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Plans, directs, and supervises all technical and administrative aspects of the budgeting process for Surgical/Procedural Services which includes analyzing operating needs, projected revenue, and expenses on both a short -term and long-term basis. Assists with forecasting capital expenditure needs while maintaining expense budgets and projects.
  • Prepares monthly variance reporting at the department level and monitors and controls capital.
  • Conducts monthly business review sessions with each business unit and reports those results to AVP of Surgical Services.
  • Oversees and manages charge entry and charge reconciliation process. Coordinates activities with staff responsible for charge capture, charge entry, and charge reconciliation.
  • Accountable for correlation and expenditure of invoices.
  • Collaborates with PFS team to manage payment methodologies.
  • Analyze financial statement trends and report findings to appropriate leadership.
  • Evaluate the reimbursement of hospital programs to determine the profitability of service lines.
  • Facilitate supply chain relationship between vendors, physicians, and the hospital for cost-effective and quality-care supplies and equipment.
