    Job Summary
    The Manager of MCS Clinical Services plans and implements clinical and administrative services assigned to the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS), Cardiogenic Shock (C-Shock) and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) programs.

Provides administrative and operational management of quality, financial performance, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, personnel management and clinical operations for programs. Responsible on a 24-hour basis of the operational management of the programs. Interviews, hires, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of team members supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Anticipate program staffing needs in accordance with national metrics, developing workflow models to optimize workload to staffing ratios.
Clinical leader for the MCS program including clinical program process review, continuous quality improvement and compliance with all TJC and CMS standards. Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of policy generation and review, clinical process variation and deviation management including policy document and management across disciplines.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Reviews care delivery model frequently and proposes evidenced based changes that would positively impact operational metrics.
Oversee daily operations of programs across cross-functional teams.
Keep informed of current trends, research and best practices in nursing management and healthcare delivery.
Collaborates with HVI Inpatient Nursing Manager to ensure compliance with operational and/or policy changes that may impact their units.
Oversight of the design and implementation of education plans across clinical teams in compliance with protocols, clinical practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Oversight of the design and implementation of clinical education for patients in compliance with protocols, clinical practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Monitor patient outcomes and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Leads the preparation for announced audits and site surveys and supports multidisciplinary team to maintain a state of readiness for unannounced regulatory agency surveys.
Participate in meetings, committees and other hospital initiatives as required.
Collaborates with the Medical Directors and Surgical Directors to identify, plan and implement operational and policy changes.
Risk Management reporting and participation in collaborative risk review.
Collaborate with the service line and clinical teams to foster programmatic growth and expansion.
Accountable for inventory management of MCS devices as required by The Joint Commission.
Program liaison for administration, faculty, staff and external and community organizations.
Identifies and communicates potential marketing and community engagement opportunities to appropriate stakeholders.
Collaborate and integrate with other service lines (ex. ECMO, Transplant, etc.), for clinical, quality, growth and development efforts.
Assist in budget and/or other financial/statistical parameters for unit/program operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.
Licensure in the state of Florida as an RN and/or APRN. Certification in Specialty Area (at hire or within two years of hire)
BLS certification. Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience required.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support or Transplant specialty. One (1) year of formal healthcare leadership.
Preferred APRN experience.
Mechanical Circulatory Support experience preferred.
Quality experience, EPIC, and IT proficiency preferred.
