Responsibilities:

Efficient handling of medical records requests with prompt responses. Proficient management of customer service calls, providing clear and helpful assistance. Accurate correction and filing of medical and vision claims. Facilitation of patient collections with professionalism and sensitivity. Diligent pursuit of outstanding receivables through effective communication with payers. Timely follow-up actions on assigned accounts to minimize outstanding receivables. Thorough research on claims to determine appropriate resolution actions. Skillful navigation of claim denials, including the preparation and submission of appeals. Flexibility to undertake additional tasks delegated by immediate supervisors.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years or more of medical billing and ICD-10 coding experience in a medical setting, preferably optometry or ophthalmology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Thorough understanding of healthcare insurance payers and fee schedules.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Capacity to foster positive and collaborative relationships with team members.
• Reliability and punctuality demonstrated through consistent attendance and timeliness.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in optometric or ophthalmologic billing.
