Knowledge of school policies and public health nursing as it applies to the public school system.
Ability to develop and implement care plans for students with chronic health problems. Ability
to provide training and in-services in a competent manner. Ability to work independently and
make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks and to plan,
organize and establish priorities related to assignments. Ability to use a computer and maintain
a filing system. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional and courteous
manner. Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a
confidential manner, complying with HIPPA regulations. Ability to follow directions and work
as a team member.

Job Summary:

To assist in coordinating the health services program so that students experiencing
health problems at school are attended to or referred for appropriate care and to
implement and maintain procedures, records, and reports in accordance with district
policies.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited nursing school preferred.
3. Valid first aid certification.
4. Valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and Artificial Emergency Defibrillation (AED) certification.
5. Computer proficiency.
6. Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
7. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Salary Information:

Professional Technical. Grade D. Two hundred twenty-day contract (11 months). FLSA Exempt. Email To A Friend
