Clinical Director Behavioral Health Services of Des Moines Martin County, FL Job Summary We are recruiting for a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Clinical Director to lead our Eating Disorders Program within our mental health division and possible SUD Detox Res Clinic. The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical integrity, program development, supervision, and compliance of services for individuals struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and related co-occurring conditions. In-patient SUD is highly desirable. This role ensures that all clinical practices align with evidence-based standards, adhere to regulatory requirements, and reflect the agency’s mission to provide empathetic and effective mental health care. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader, passionate about treating eating disorders, and committed to clinical excellence. They will oversee a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical supervision, manage program outcomes, and ensure fidelity to therapeutic models while supporting a trauma-informed, client-centered, and recovery-oriented environment. Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for all clinical services within the Programs. Develop, implement, and evaluate program policies, procedures, and treatment protocols. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that emphasizes integrity, clinical growth, and client outcomes. Lead strategic planning for service expansion, quality improvement, and performance monitoring. Ensure seamless integration of medical, psychiatric, nutritional, and therapeutic services within the program. Provide direct clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed staff, including therapists, case managers, and group facilitators. Monitor clinical documentation and treatment planning to ensure regulatory and ethical standards. Facilitate regular clinical team meetings, trainings, and case consultations. Mentor staff in evidence-based modalities including CBT-E, DBT, ACT, and Family-Based Therapy (FBT). Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of clinical personnel. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, and Florida Department of Health regulations. Oversee internal audits and quality assurance initiatives. Collaborate with administrative teams on outcome measurement, program evaluation, and data reporting. Participate in budgeting, utilization review, and risk management processes. Experience Minimum Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field. Active Florida clinical license (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT). Licensed Clinical Supervisor in the state of Florida with experience supervising both pre-licensed and licensed clinicians. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with at least 3 years specializing in eating disorders. Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a residential, PHP, or IOP setting. Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices for eating disorders, such as CBT-E, DBT, FBT, and exposure-based therapies. Strong understanding of co-occurring disorders including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use. Preferred Qualifications Certification or advanced training in eating disorder-specific models (e.g., IAEDP Certified Eating Disorders Specialist). Experience with electronic health records (EHR), insurance documentation, and managed care systems. Experience with Joint Commission or CARF-accredited organizations.
