Patient Access Supervisor University of Miami UHealth System North Miami, FL 33181 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Supervisor to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the patient registration process, manage staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office or hospital setting and possess strong leadership skills. Responsibilities Supervise and train patient access staff to ensure efficient operations within the clinic or hospital environment. Oversee the patient registration process, ensuring accuracy in data entry and adherence to protocols. Manage medical billing processes, including verification of insurance information and coding using ICD-9. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and data security. Utilize Dentrix software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments. Conduct regular audits of patient access operations to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall patient experience. Address any issues or concerns raised by patients regarding their access to services. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting is preferred. Familiarity with ICD-9 coding and medical billing practices is essential. Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry tasks. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff. Experience using Dentrix or similar practice management software is highly desirable.
