JOB SUMMARY
Direct, plan, supervise, organize, and control the environment and activities of optometry facilities within a defined practice. Develop and implement a clinical quality and staffing plan for each center that achieves. the quality, service, and financial goals of
USVMP. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Managerial experience, ideally in healthcare, with a requirement in the Optometry/Optical industry. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, and a college degree preferred. Working knowledge of standard accounting principles and budgetary experience. Working knowledge of computers. Experience with a fully integrated optometry office software package would be extremely beneficial. Experience in negotiating general business contracts. Experience with human resources include recruiting, training, retention, and compliance with related HR regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Planning a. Develop a business plan for practice in conjunction with the MSO. Manage clinic operations to ensure the corporate goals of service, employee engagement, and patient experience are accomplished. Make recommendations for implementation, as well as timelines to be included. b. Maintain an organization and communication system with the specific objectives of enhanced operating efficiency. c. Works with the management team and outside consulting firms to develop a marketing plan to dovetail the practice goals set forth in the business plan. d. Works on recruitment and development of a medical staff consistent with the goals set forth in the business plan. e. Serves as primary interface with business consultants (legal, accounting, management consultants) to the practice. 2. Financial Operations a. Work with the MSO and outside accounting/consulting firm in preparation of an annual budget. b. Participate in the development of corporate goals, objectives, and policies. c. Ensure correct recording of services in accord with billing, coding, and reporting requirements. d. Review and analyze monthly financial statements of the practice. e. Analyze the cost/benefit ratio and feasibility thereof of special situations or opportunities for the practice. f. Provide direct or indirect approval of all practice expenditures. g. Work with MSO and other experts to develop appropriate internal controls. h. Maintain an efficient purchasing system. i. Monitor the billing and collection process to facilitate a healthy turnover of accounts receivable. j. Manage labor budgets, including the payroll process and time keeping. 3. Personnel Management a. Recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all practice staff. b. Supervise, coach, and conduct ongoing staff development that aligns with business needs. c. Manage performance evaluations and other compliance related activities in accordance with the MSO platform/systems. d. Function as a culture champion to promote a positive work culture, drive employee engagement and ensure effective communication at all levels of staff. e. Develop initiative, motivation, and positive morale within the clinic team. 4. Corporate Overview a. Serve as a spokesperson, when necessary, for the practice. b. Coordinate with MSO to ensure appropriate insurance coverage, including malpractice, office contents and liability, life, disability, and business overhead (for the optometrists), as well as any other practice related policies. c. Develop in-depth knowledge of the area marketplace. This will include attendance at appropriate conferences or community events. d. Oversee the computer system of the practice to ensure maximum utilization and increased practice efficiency. e. Conduct periodic reviews of management personnel who report to the position. f. Develop and maintain quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with third-party payers.
CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Participates with appropriate professional organizations to gain knowledge and have resources available for the continued improvement of the company. OTHER Additional duties as assigned.
SENSORY, MOTOR REQUIREMENTS
Extensive use of computers. Travel between office locations (rarely). Ability to hear and speak clearly. Free to move about the offices and observe patient activities.
