The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient referrals and ensuring seamless communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. This position is essential for maintaining high-quality patient care and requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, insurance verification, and managed care processes. Responsibilities Manage the referral process from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients and providers. Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for referrals, including understanding managed care plans. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize coding knowledge, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, to ensure proper billing and coding for referrals. Coordinate with dental offices and medical offices to facilitate patient appointments and follow-ups. Assist in resolving any issues related to referrals or insurance claims. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing inquiries and concerns related to their referrals. Skills Experience working in a dental office or medical office setting is preferred. Proficiency in insurance verification processes and managed care systems. Strong understanding of medical records management and HIPAA compliance. Familiarity with coding systems, specifically ICD-10 and ICD-9. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
