Position Summary

Position Summary
Manages, directs, and coordinates office operations to provide quality patient care services. Supports the department through direct supervision and guidance of integrative medicine practices staff, student interns and volunteers; the oversight of Integrative Medicine departmental services to regional care centers, help promote clinical skill development and related programming integration, and assistance with departmental analytics and projects that promote and support quality patient care and service.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions

  • Ensures that all patient care activities and interventions meet established Integrative Medicine professional standards of care as
    outlined in the codes of conduct and ethical practice guidelines of the respective professions and in accordance with any regulatory
    requirements.
  • Incorporates healing arts staff and programming into the patient care service delivery for the department.
  • Assumes responsibility for workload distribution and scheduling of team members to ensure adequate staffing to meet the needs of the patients and families we serve.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment, selection, hiring, and training of new staff to ensure effective integration into the team and to the positions they are assigned.
  • Responsible for organizing all psychosocial services to the regional care centers.
  • Conducts staff coaching and evaluations for the purpose of performance review and goal setting. Conducts counseling and initiates disciplinary action accordingly.
  • Works in collaboration with Orlando Health Academic Department and the clinical practice leads to ensure the appropriate placement and supervision of students. Serves as the liaison between the students’ school, the student, and department staff for purposes of general oversight and accommodation.
  • Performs necessary evaluations and supervision of students as indicated and in collaboration with the clinical practice leads.
  • Participates in the development of research and quality improvement processes to enhance evidence-based practices, promote professional acumen within the organization and in the national professional communities, and promote the full scope of clinical practice among the music therapy staff.
  • Represents the department and organization at community events, serving as a subject matter expert and ambassador.
  • Provides educational presentations on a local or national level to represent the clinical acumen of the department and organization.
  • Manages department resources and expense requests made by staff for patient care supplies that can be purchased from the
    department’s restricted account.
  • Participates in and/or leads various committees, task forces, and other facility initiatives related to department goals.
  • Serve as a role model for effective leadership and quality customer service by continuously demonstrating Orlando Health’s mission, vision, and values; helps the director align the department with strategic imperatives.
  • Assists staff with difficult patient cases by offering guidance and direction for appropriate interventions and support.
  • Helps oversee department special events and assist staff as needed.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
    Other Related Functions
  • Maintains department records of staff’s mandatory education compliance, such as CPR, CARE, PPD, and professional credentials required for each staff position.
  • Serves as the primary timekeeper for the department.
  • Facilitates department meetings or other meetings as requested.
  • Develops and initiates, in conjunction with the director, leadership strategies for growth and development for the department.

Qualifications
Education/Training
Master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, social work, healthcare administration, or an MBA.
Licensure/Certification
Current professional licensure in a behavioral health field, including but not limited to psychology, counseling, and social work is referred.
Experience
Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare with demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading people.
