The Assistant Director of the Air Ambulance Program will assistin overseeing the day-to-day operations of the air ambulanceservice, ensuring that all flights are performed safely,efficiently, and in compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations. Thisrole requires a strong background in aviation operations, medicaltransport logistics, regulatory compliance, and leadership withinthe HAA environment. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
Operational Oversight:
Assist the Director in managing airambulance operations, ensuring timely and safe transportation ofpatients. Coordinate logistics for air ambulance flights, includingaircraft, medical crew, and ground support. This position willrequire Operational Control under the Part 135 HAA guidelines.
Staff Management:
Assist in recruiting, training, and supervisingflight crew members (pilots, paramedics, nurses, etc.). Conductregular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that air ambulance operations complywith FAA Part 135 and other local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay current on changes to aviation regulations, air ambulancestandards, and medical transport procedures.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
Promote and enforce safety protocolsand best practices across all air ambulance operations. Conductroutine safety audits and risk assessments.
Financial and Budgetary Support:
Assist in managing the program’sbudget, ensuring efficient use of resources. Monitor costs andassist in the development of strategies to optimize spending.
Emergency Response and Incident Management:
Lead or assist with thecoordination of emergency medical transport flights. Serve as aliaison between hospitals, medical professionals, and otheremergency services to ensure effective patient transport andcare.
Customer Service and Stakeholder Engagement:
Develop and maintainrelationships with key stakeholders, including hospitals, medicalpersonnel, and emergency response teams. Ensure high qualityservice is provided to patients and their families. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in aviation management,healthcare management, emergency medical services, or a relatedfield. (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience:
Must have 7-10 years supervisory or managerialexperience within the last 6 years in a position that exercisedoperational control over any operations conducted under Part 121 orPart 135. No waivers or exemptions will be granted. This position is a flying position, applicant must be able tomaintain pilot flying qualifications
Certification:
FAA ATP Helicopter, current First Class Medical orability to possess a First Class Medical at time of hire.
Licensure:
Current, valid Florida driver’s license required.
