    At Sunrise, our Health Information Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the health information services for the community Skilled Nursing operations in accordance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations along with professional practice standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

This position will also manage Central Supply and Staffing. Responsibilities for

Health Information Coordinator:
  • Develops, organizes and maintains current Master Resident Index
  • Maintains filing system for in-house and discharged residents to facilitate record retrieval and access
  • Assembles, audits, completes and files resident’s records and maintains system for the timely completion of all charts
  • Audits in-house records for accuracy and completeness according to the established schedule
  • Prepares admission records and chart for the newly admitted residents.

Responsibilities for

Central Supply Coordinator:
  • Work with various vendors and place oorders to maintain inventory of nurisng home supplies
  • Maintain a monthly budget for the department based on a daily and monthly PPD
  • Asemble and distrubute approirpite medical supplies throughtout the facilty for hte residents
  • Organize storage areas and supervise the use of supplies Responsibilities for
Staffing Coordinator:
  • Identify company employee requirements and create a staffing strategy
  • Prepare work schedules and enforce complaiance with company and indursty labor requirements
  • Determine staffing shorfalls and report job vacancies to fill the openings
  • Confirm staff details and working hours to ensure accurate employee compansation
  • Maintain a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers.

Qualifications:
  • High School Degree / GED required
  • Previous experience in long term care and health information systems preferred
  • Desire to work with geriatric population
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication; communicates with various audiences such as clinical team members, nursing personnel, supervisors & consultants
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, Ombudsman Reconciliation Act (OBRA) and long term care/state regulations
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications.
