JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PROJECT SUPERVISOR!

The Project Supervisor role is responsible for the supervision of Project Coordinators, advanced clerical and accounting work and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and supporting staff. Essential Job Functions Day to day supervision of Project Coordinators for road rehabilitation projects, tracking, response to inquiries and correspondence, right-of way request and follow-up.

Verifies and processes:

payment applications, material quantities, change orders, task order proposals, and coordinates contract requirements for issuance of Notices to Proceed; monthly vendor invoices, and tracking purchase orders and task orders. Determines final project costs and closing-out of projects. Prepares final completion letters, intermediate reports, and determines warranty periods. Maintains records and prepares status reports to track insurance coverage, and contract bonds. Prepares spread sheets and cost analysis of roadway project costs over an extended time frame. Works closely with Fiscal and Purchasing Departments to ensure financial and procurement items are handled in a timely manner. Prepares documents for BCC or County Administrator approval; to include general correspondence, agenda memos, interoffice memos, change orders, and all supporting documents. Assists in the forecast of funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies to develop the department’s annual budget. Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge and understanding of construction contract documents, including the ability to interpret, monitor, and process bond and insurance certifications, pay application requests, change orders, task orders, and other project cost accounting. Knowledge of business English, office procedures, engineering and construction terms. Ability to interpret requirements, regulations, and policies of the Department of Public Works. Ability to research and maintain records, and prepare reports. Ability to make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public. Ability to operate a computer, and knowledge of software including Windows, Word, Access, Excel, and Tyler Munis. Minimum Requirements

PHYSICAL SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience in project management, construction, or in a related engineering or public works environment OR an Associate degree and four (4) years of experience. One (1) year of supervisory experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
