Job Description

Position Summary Responsible for management of the H.I.M. Inpatient Coding Team. Assures accountability for receipt of records from all encounters. Monitors coding productivity, compliance, and assures D.N.F.C. and D.N.F.B goals are met. Collaborates with the CDI manager including co-hosting educational activities and acting as the final expert on any coding questions. Works with Patient Financial Services on issues concerning inpatient claims rejections due to coding, compliance, or data integrity. Maintains HIPAA compliance. Education Bachelors in Health Information Administration

Establishes efficient processes to meet budget. Collaborates with clinical departments to ensure workflow after discharge is timely and complete. Monitors daily unbilled status of accounts to ensure weekly goals are Serves as the primary resource for coding education for the health system. Knowledge expert regarding coding compliance, Quality measures including PSI and VBP. Reviews records for potential queries, ROM/SOI indicators, and accurate dispositions. Active team member of the CDI/Coding Steering Committee. Works with MSA team to identify physicians who require notification of missing documentation or incomplete/missing information in the record. Communicates physician issues to Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs. Assures co-workers comply with regulations concerning security and confidentiality. Maintains policies and procedures, conducts regular education sessions.
