The Outpatient Clinical Manager participates in the development of and clinic/program evaluation for the individual clinical outpatient area they manage. Provides consistent leadership and support to multidisciplinary staff such as nurses, medical assistants, physicians, APPs, case managers, rehabilitation therapists, patients, families, and other external customers relative to clinic/program initiatives and goals. The clinical manager is responsible for the overall daily operations and workflow of their individual clinical area. The Clinical Manager collaborates with the Director of Outpatient Services, program directors, CNO, case managers, medical staff, pharmacy, lab, and other interdepartmental and external staff to promote quality care, outcomes, research, and evidence-based practice to contribute to building and maintaining a strong environment that facilitates collaboration with the healthcare team to achieve quality outcomes supporting a great patient experience.
Accountabilities:
Manage and support outpatient clinic nursing staff, case management, therapy services; ensure appropriate staffing is available to provide safe quality care of patients scheduled Collaborate with staff and medical providers to address customer service issues as they arise; providing direct assistance with customer services issues and ensure suitable solutions Develop and provide staff with educational opportunities to ensure patients and caregivers receive safe, quality care, always with a focus on outcomes and evidence-based practices Develop clinic specific staff goals in concert with the clinic/program objectives prioritized by the hospital strategic plan within the five pillars of excellence Develop and work towards clinic specific strategic plan in collaboration with multidisciplinary team keeping in line with the mission and strategic plan of the Shepherd Center Lead engaging staff meetings, regular rounding and touchpoints, and annual evaluations with staff Maintain policies and procedures in compliance with
JCAHO/CARF
standards in collaboration with Director of Outpatient Services and Outpatient Educator Work with quality, data analytics, and Director of Outpatient Services to collect clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction results, and perform analyses in support of process improvement initiatives. Report results to Director of Outpatient Services and multidisciplinary team within clinical area. Manage and monitor daily clinic schedules in coordination with charge nurse, providers, case management, and other ancillary departments. Responsible for monitoring budgets, personnel, finance, and resources of the clinical area he/she is responsible Manage charge reconciliation, discrepancies with e-prescription of medication, medication administration discrepancies through EHR Evaluate process improvement efforts to ensure processes and workflows are efficient and meet regulatory standards and patient safety guidelines
