Position Summary:

The Residence Manager (House Manager) at Angelite CRA Residence is responsible for overseeing the operations and staff of the residence, ensuring that all services provided align with the agency’s mission and adhere to relevant federal, state, and local regulations. This position will supervise the Direct Support Staff (DSS), monitor the care and safety of individuals served, and ensure that the home environment is secure, sanitary, and conducive to a person-centered approach. The Residence Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, documenting services, tracking progress, and fostering a supportive and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Staff Supervision & Development:

o Supervise and provide leadership to the Direct Support Staff (DSS), ensuring they are properly trained, equipped, and supported to deliver high-quality care. o Conduct regular staff performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate ongoing training opportunities. o Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing coverage, including addressing call-ins and time-off requests. o Lead staff meetings, facilitating communication, collaboration, and the sharing of important updates and best practices.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

o Ensure the residence operates in full compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, state, federal, and local regulations (including HCBS and other relevant guidelines). o Stay updated on all regulatory changes and adjust operations to meet new requirements. o Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the residence is adhering to safety, health, and sanitation standards. o Review and monitor documentation related to care plans, incident reports, and medical records to ensure compliance and accuracy. o Ensure that incident reports are completed properly, reviewed, and filed in a timely manner, and that appropriate action is taken when needed. o Participate in investigations related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or violations of rules, as per company policies.

Oversight of Person-Centered Care:

o Oversee the implementation of individualized care and treatment plans for each person served, ensuring that care is delivered in line with the goals and preferences outlined in their plans. o Ensure that the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system is used consistently and accurately by Direct Support Staff to track individuals’ progress, health data, and behavioral changes. o Monitor the completion of healthcare assessments and ensure that all individuals’ healthcare needs are met, including coordinating appointments, follow-ups, and medication management. o Ensure that behavior support plans are being followed, and that staff are accurately tracking behaviors and responses to interventions.

Documentation & Reporting:

o Ensure that all documentation related to services provided, goals, progress, and health tracking is completed in a timely and accurate manner, using the EHR system. o Maintain comprehensive records for individuals served documenting changes in health, behavior, and daily progress as required by regulation. o Prepare and submit any required reports to regulatory bodies, funding sources, and other stakeholders in accordance with timelines and guidelines. o Ensure that the residence’s financial, staffing, and operational records are maintained accurately and comply with organizational policies.

Health, Safety, and Environment Management:

o Oversee the maintenance of a safe, clean, and sanitary environment within the residence, ensuring the home is in good repair and that safety standards are upheld. o Manage the implementation of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring that all staff are trained and that individuals served are aware of evacuation and safety protocols. o Monitor and ensure the proper storage, administration, and documentation of medications and healthcare supplies. o Ensure the residence is equipped with appropriate safety measures (e.g., first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.) and that safety equipment is in good working order. o Conduct regular safety drills and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate them proactively.

Quality Improvement & Best Practices:

o Ensure that services are delivered in a person-centered manner, focusing on the preferences and needs of individuals served. o Continuously assess the effectiveness of services and make recommendations for improvements. o Collaborate with management to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives. o Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support to improve the quality of care and enhance the professional development of the team.

Collaboration & Communication:

o Foster positive relationships with families, guardians, and community members, ensuring open and effective communication. o Collaborate with external healthcare providers, community organizations, and regulatory bodies to ensure individuals served receive appropriate services and resources. o Act as the primary point of contact for families, guardians, and external stakeholders regarding the care and well-being of individuals served.

Crisis Management:

o Provide leadership in managing crises that may arise, including medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, and other urgent matters. o Act as a liaison during investigations, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted and that due process is followed. Additional Duties as

Assigned:

o Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by senior management to ensure the smooth operation of the residence.

Education and Experience Requirements:

o Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. o High School diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or training in healthcare, developmental disabilities, or related fields may substitute for experience.

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a supervisory or management role within a residential care, developmental disabilities, or healthcare setting. o Demonstrated experience managing staff and overseeing operational and compliance-related tasks. o Experience with EHR systems, care planning, and documentation processes is preferred. o Knowledge of HCBS rules, state/federal regulations, and best practices in residential care for individuals with developmental disabilities is required.

Skills and Competencies:

 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in crisis situations.  Ability to work collaboratively with individuals served, families, staff, and external stakeholders.  Knowledge of health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance.  Proficiency with technology, including EHR software, Microsoft Office, and other office tools.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

 Ability to lift and support up to 50 pounds.  Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.  Capacity to work in a group home environment, including handling emergency situations and ensuring safety and security at all times.  Ability to perform emergency interventions or assist in evacuations in the event of an emergency.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$18.00 – $21.00 per hour
