What You’ll Do As a Referral Coordinator at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll: Prioritize and schedule referrals based on urgency, ensuring timely follow-up and seamless handoffs to specialists and providers Accurately collect and enter demographic, insurance, and clinical information into the EMR to support referral processes Verify insurance benefits, contact payers for pre-authorization, and communicate clinical details when necessary to establish medical necessity Explain referral expectations, co-pays, or deductibles, and answer questions to ensure patients are informed and prepared Build strong relationships with referral offices, community providers, and internal teams to support smooth transitions of care Serve as a go-to contact for staff regarding authorizations, procedural codes, and insurance requirements A Great Fit If You… Are highly organized and thrives on coordination and accuracy Understand insurance plans and authorization requirements Communicates clearly, compassionately, and professionally Love helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident What You’ll Need High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical environment Knowledge of insurance plans and verification procedures Customer service experience in a patient-facing role Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred) Experience using Epic EMR system (preferred) Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Discretion and professionalism in handling patient information Why OrthoAtlanta?
