Position Overview:
The Sr. Product Manager, ClinicalInteroperability leads the planning, development, and integrationof clinical interoperability solutions for patient education. Thisrole drives the strategy and execution of WebMD’s Clinical-Facingsolutions, including standalone offerings and integrated EHR tools,focusing on optimizing workflows to deliver market value and reduceclinicians’ time in assigning education. The manager is responsiblefor enhancing patient education tools and platforms to improveaccess, usability, and engagement across clinical settings,ensuring seamless information flow to support education andempowerment. This individual oversees all phases of the productlifecycle, including market needs analysis, requirementsdefinition, planning, development, go-to-market strategies, ongoingoptimization, maintenance, migrations, and product sunsetting,while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance patientengagement and health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Product Planning & Strategy Conduct and lead discovery processes and market research toidentify product and customer requirements. Define and articulate the product vision, ensuring alignmentwith organizational goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop forecasts for revenueand customer satisfaction. Perform return on investment (ROI) analysis to guide productdecision-making and prioritization. Develop, manage, and maintain the product roadmap to drivestrategic alignment and execution. Product Development Partner with developers, engineers, and product managers toeffectively leverage expertise in EPIC, Cerner, and eCW modules,including Ambulatory, Inpatient, AVS, Depart, and MyChart. Design and optimize configurations, workflows, andcustomizations to align with each EHR provider’s solutions. Utilize a deep understanding of healthcare workflows, medicalcoding systems, and operational processes to improve producteffectiveness. Lead and oversee large-scale healthcare IT projects, ensuringtimely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Implement and uphold integration standards such as FHIR and HL7to ensure seamless interoperability with EHR systems. Communicate product requirements and specifications to allstakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment. Define integration points with third-party systems tofacilitate interoperability and product functionality. Collaborate with stakeholders during sprints, developmentcycles, and testing phases to drive successful outcomes. Product Launch / Marketing Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute thego-to-market strategy. Contribute to defining product positioning, identifying targetmarkets, and crafting messaging that highlights key features andbenefits. Act as a product evangelist, effectively communicating theproduct vision to internal teams, external stakeholders, andclients. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing insights intoproduct functionality, usage, and expected benefits. Technical Leadership Support the training and mentoring of Product Managers toenhance their skills and professional growth. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies to informproduct strategy and innovation. Provide thought leadership to stakeholders on product design,usage, and effectiveness. Establish, track, and analyze product performance metrics todrive continuous improvement in product quality, utilization, andsupporting infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; preferredfields include Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration,Nursing, Public Health, or related disciplines. 7+ years of product management experience, specifically inhealthcare, digital health, or patient education. Expertise in configuring, customizing, and optimizing workflowsfor solutions across various EHR providers. Demonstrated experience designing and managing products thatempower patients with educational resources in clinical or digitalhealth environments. Strong knowledge of clinical interoperability standards (e.g.,HL7, FHIR) and experience integrating with EMRs, EHRs, and otherclinical data sources. Hands-on experience developing or integrating patient educationproducts within healthcare systems to ensure seamless data flow andaccessibility for providers and patients. Proven ability to design user-centered products with a focus onaccessibility, usability, and personalized content delivery forpatient education and engagement. Experience conducting user research to address the educationalneeds of diverse patient populations. Proficiency in data management and analytics to assess patienteducation and engagement metrics. Ability to leverage clinical and patient engagement data todrive product enhancements and ensure alignment with patientneeds. In-depth understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements(e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and their impact on patient education products,ensuring compliance and privacy. Proven ability to analyze product performance and market datato develop actionable recommendations for product andinfrastructure improvements. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritizetasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills to convey detailed, persuasiveinformation to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Commitment to strict design principles and adherence topolicies. Creative problem-solving skills to translate ideas and customerinput into innovative products and solutions. Ability to coach and train colleagues on policies, processes,and best practices.
