Manager of Rehabilitation Services Required Education and Experience:
AS or BS degree of an approved Therapy program. Hold current valid license from state of Georgia. Management experience in rehab or similar setting is preferred but not required. At least two (2) years experience in hospital setting. Basic knowledge of computer applications including data entry. Ability to work rotating and weekend shifts Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Summary/ Objective:
Responsible overseeing the inpatient therapy department operations which includes supervision of professional staff of
OT, COTA, PT, PTA, ST
as well as techs, scheduling staff based on census and patient acuity to ensure safe and adequate staffing matrix, maintaining weekend and holiday coverage calendars, onboarding of new employees, conducting annual performance evaluations, monitoring metrics for needed ongoing competencies and quality reporting, attending meetings as assigned, completing payroll documentation each pay period, monitoring staff productivity, distributing patient caseloads and new admissions to ensure appropriate distribution of acuity, conducting monthly rehab meetings and keeping minutes. This is a treating management position so the manager is also responsible for the evaluation, planning, and direction of referred patients to determine the treatment plan as related to clinical specialty and license. Administration of therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician and supervision of assistants as assigned.
Occupational Requirements :
Must be able to maneuver up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stretch, climb, crawl, walk, run, bend, twist, and squat. Sufficient sight (including color discrimination), manual dexterity and mobility to function effectively. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. Ability to work in hazardous and biohazardous areas. Ability to work in a controlled environment. Must be able to stoop and retrieve objects from floor level without restrictions. Must be able to stand for long periods; must be able to sit for short periods. May be required to climb ladders/stools to heights of three (3) feet or more. Must have full use of hands and arms in order to balance, feel, manipulate, and operate knobs and levers. Must have visual acuity to view data on computer screen for long periods of time and read computer generated reports.
