Location Manager Job Summary The Counselor Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of behavioral health counselors while maintaining a reduced caseload. The Team Lead provides clinical and administrative support to their team, conducts performance meetings, manages reauthorizations and discharge planning, and ensures that documentation and service delivery align with clinical standards and agency policy. This role balances leadership responsibilities with direct care, working with adults and children on mental health, behavioral, and emotional issues. Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Support
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to assigned team of counselors.
- Meet individually with each team member at least once per month to review performance, identify strengths and growth areas, and set professional goals.
- Address performance concerns and initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Lead weekly team meetings and participate in agency-wide trainings.
- Review clinical notes and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Clinical Care
- Maintain a small caseload and provide individual therapy to clients with a variety of presenting issues including stress, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and family-related concerns.
- Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of care.
- Coordinate client reauthorizations and discharges in collaboration with support staff and leadership.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- 1 In office work day per week
- Work 13 billable hours and 24 management hours per week.
- Responsible for monitoring counselors, clients, and documentation.
- Monitor and contribute to counselor performance metrics and client outcomes. Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in behavioral or mental health settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills or prior experience in team management preferred.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and meet state insurance requirements.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Licensing Requirements:
Must hold or be pursuing licensure as
LPC, LCSW, LMFT
in the state of Georgia. Must meet all background check and drug screening requirements.
