Job Description

Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. This position oversees the maintenance and upkeep of fitness areas, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and timely repairs. Implement preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate necessary upgrades, and ensure compliance with university policies and safety protocols. Manage budgeting for facility needs and oversee the purchase of new fitness equipment to enhance the offerings. Regularly evaluate space utilization and identify opportunities for improvement to better serve the university and community. Manage and supervise all Fitness and Wellness programming, including group exercise classes, personal training Rocksteady Boxing. Oversee scheduling, equipment setup, and participant engagement while ensuring programs remain dynamic, inclusive, and aligned with campus wellness initiatives. Develop specialized programs tailored to diverse university groups, plan year-round activities to maximize facility use, and continuously assess program effectiveness based on participation trends and feedback. Foster collaboration with student organizations, faculty, and campus departments to expand offerings, increase engagement, and promote a culture of wellness across the university. Hire, train, and oversee instructors and student staff while managing budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation. Provide ongoing professional development opportunities, implement performance evaluations, and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment. Strategically manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for all fitness programs and operations. Encourage leadership development among student employees, equipping them with the skills to contribute effectively to the university’s recreation and wellness initiatives.
