Is an integral member of the transplant team and assists the transplant physicians by independently monitoring patients as they progress through all aspects of the transplant procedure, managing outpatient clinics, and periodically reviewing all patients with the physicians. - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing OR Associate’s degree in healthcare field Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or specialty area Work Experience Required
- 5 years experience in a healthcare related field.
Preferred - Experience in the pre and post transplant and coordination of care for Bone Marrow Transplant patients. Experience as a Bone Marrow Clinical Transplant Coordinator Certifications Required
- none Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Good interpersonal skills Job Duties Coordinates Pre-Transplant assessments, plans timeline for therapy and determines financial eligibility for bone marrow transplant.
Monitors bone marrow transplant patients as they progress through inpatient unit and helps with transition to outpatient status.
Coordinates Post-Transplant outpatient assessments, plans and arranges for long-term follow-up with primary care physicians once treatment is completed.
Provides patient education pre and post-transplant.
Provides education and shares innovative ideas with colleagues.
Maintains professional growth and development.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
