Job Description

Medical Office Administrator (New Orleans, LA) 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118 In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to patients and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the clinic activities. The ideal candidate will have a background with insurance authorization and financial counseling. Responsible for financial counseling with patients Obtaining insurance authorization Patient scheduling Scanning and filing patient documents and ensuring complete and accurate information Managing incoming phone calls Providing financial counseling for patients and posting over the counter (OTC) payments Daily document research on an electronic health/medical record system

Required:

High school diploma or GED required. Requires a minimum of 2 years of administration, customer service or related experience A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Preferred:

Experience in a medical office. Experience with EMR systems (NextGen). Working knowledge of state, federal, regional collection and reimbursement laws, HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state and federal plans including coding, billing and reimbursement protocols.
