EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience. Job Duties and Other Information Complete orders from Physicians, Nurses, Administrators and other members of Medical Staff regarding physical and electronic medical records.
Reviewing, scanning, indexing, uploading and attaching paper records and documents into EHR while maintaining the security and confidentiality of all health information.
Retrieves and updates patient records upon request and maintains custody files for records removed from department.
Perform all Medical Record functions involving physical (paper) health information records and Electronic Health Records(EHR).
Works with adult male inmates of all custody levels – minimum, medium, maximum (death row) and protective custody.

The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT
Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.
TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT
This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. Exams and License Requirements No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

SALARY DEPENDENDS ON LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Health Information Coordinator 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Health Information Coordinator 3 is $68,806.00 annually.
