There is an exciting room for advancement for all of our motivated patient care coordinators, such as lead optometric technician and patient management roles. Besides comprehensive eye care, our office specializes in advanced myopia control and dry eye treatment, including TearCare and intense pulse light (IPL) therapy.

Responsibilities:

Front desk administration and can act as patient liaison – assists with patient intake forms, updates patient demographic files and database, confirms and schedules appointments, triages phone calls, makes referrals, checks in/out patients, contacts patients for recalls. Check patient insurance eligibility and explain copays, deductible, and other insurance coverages. Make glasses and contact lens sales, using insurance or self-pay pricing with independence after some training. Cross-train in technical work up for patients. Performs various testing procedures, such as, but not limited to, autorefraction and autokeratometry, intraocular pressure screening, fundus photography and other diagnostic imaging, visual field screening, contact lens insertion and removal training, dilation, lensometry. Ensures housekeeping and clinic needs are met – office and exams rooms are cleaned, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Maintains frame inventory and contact lens inventory by ordering and stocking contact lens trials and solutions, and disposing expired products. Update frame/contact lens pricing independently with minimal instructions.

Qualifications:

Possesses strong professional behavior by demonstrating accountability, confidentiality of patient information, ability to prioritize demands, work under pressure with good time management skills. Ability to multitask. High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in-related field preferred. At least 1-2 years of work experience. Completion and/or experience in ophthalmic/dispensing, optometric or medical assistant training program preferred, but not required. Looking for a long-term member. Willing to train the right candidate. Proficiency in sales math, basic computer, operating systems and technology. Experience with scheduling systems preferred. Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks described above and additional responsibilities as assigned independently with minimal supervision.
