General Responsibilities:

Reports directly to the Executive Director/Assistant Executive Director Is responsible for helping people to whom CSI provides supports to find happiness in their own homes, in their personal relationships and as contributing members of their community by primary person responsible for implantation of clinical services and behavior support. Is responsible for oversight of the Behavior Support Professional(s). In addition, the Clinical Director may also have a caseload of individuals for whom they are providing support. Works with teams to identify areas of needed behavioral support, including identifying target behaviors, antecedents and effective responses to identify behaviors, taking into account the functional nature of the individual’s behavior and their communication styles. From this, they create goals, Behavior Support Plans other support guidelines for staff to follow, providing training as necessary. Reviews acts as a consultant to internal stakeholders including Nursing Supports, Management Staff and the like; ensuring that supports are sufficient to help each individual optimize their chance for happiness (which includes knowledge of budget and staffing). This position interfaces with other professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure a comprehensive plan of support for each person. May represent the agency at such committees as the Human Rights Committee, Peer Review Committee and with the Department of Developmental Services.

Job Qualifications:

Currently licensed in Massachusetts in accordance with applicable law as one of the following: a) a psychologist b) an independent clinical social worker c) an applied behavior analyst d) a masters or doctorate level speech pathologist e) a physician f) a master’s or doctorate level teacher with a certification in special education g) a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) h) be a doctorate level special education teacher actively teaching the topics of positive behavior support or applied behavior analysis at the college or university level. Applicant must have at least three years of training, including post graduate class work or formal training, and/or experience in function based behavioral assessment and treatment; and have at least three (3) years of clinical experience in the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities. Previous supervisory experience with 3 or more years’ experience strongly preferred. Experience with service planning in a team modality and the provision of services to people with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and substance abuse is necessary A minimum of 5 years’ experience in development and implementation of treatment plans and/or Individual Support Plans/ behavior support plans.

Other required qualifications include:

excellent written and oral communication skills, computer, word processing skills, valid driver’s License and driving history free of significant infractions within the past 7 years. Candidates must also have a past free of criminal convictions, and driving record free from convictions, as identified in CSI personnel policy.
