Job Description:
Piper Shores is Maine’s only non-profit lifecare retirementmunity offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and long-term care. We are seeking a licensed multi-level long-term care administrator to lead operations of our 90-bed program which includes 40 skilled nursing amodations, 14 memory care apartments and 36 assisted living apartments, all of which are private. We are a CMS 5-star ratedmunity with amitment to Person-Centered care and a well-established cohort of interdisciplinary team members to ensurefortable staffing ratios.
This is a newly developed position designed to meet the evolving needs associated with the growth and expansion of ourmunity. Essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
Oversees the daily operations within the Health Center and Assisted Living/Memory Care, leading the implementation of person-centered care principles.
Acts as the on-site executive for all operations, including being the main point of contact for all staff, residents, prospects,munity organizations, government agencies and the public when needed.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that ensurepliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Prepare for inspections and audits from regulatory bodies, ensuring the department meets all requirements; Ensures all documentation and records are accurate and up to date.
Promotes Positive Approach and skills-based care for persons living with dementia.
Ensures that individualized care plans are focused on residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being, empowering residents to live as independently as possible.
Builds and maintains strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families, encouraging openmunication and collaboration.
Collaborates with a broad range of internal and external partners to effect transitions of care.
Provides cross-functional organizational leadership.
Facilitates Quality Assurance meetings and oversees overall healthcare quality measures to include CMS 5-star rating standards.
Provides direct supervision of Nursing, Social Worker and Recreation departments including training, adherence to operational and applicable State and Federal regulations.
Responsible for oversight and management of 24/7 health care operations.
Must hold an active Multi-Level Nursing Home Administrator License for the State of Maine or be eligible for reciprocity.
Minimum 5 years of long-term care management experience is required and a minimum of 2 years as a licensed nursing home administrator.
Knowledge of Nursing Home and Assisted Living regulations and experience working with a senior care population.
Comprehensive knowledge of long-term care standards of practice in all departments.
Ability to work with a team and demonstrate a positive attitude and serves as a role model for all staff.
Strong emotional intelligence, ability tomunicate effectively and demonstrate empathy while also holding individual accountability.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to utilize technology. Familiarity with MatrixCare or similar electronic medical records system.
Ability tomunicate, understand, empathize and engage with, and maintain professionalism with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and direct reports.
