Job Summary:
  • The Patient Care AdministrativeNurse Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse and isresponsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursingdepartment(s) on an assigned shift in accordance with nursingstandards and practices as well as current Federal, State and localstandards, guidelines and regulations.
  • This position providesleadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of theunit manager, director, or administration.
  • This position ensuresthe appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care viathe utilization of the Nursing Process and creates a positiveenvironment for the professional practice of nursing.
  • The roleprovided leadership to ensure continuous improvement withinquality, safety and in alignment with Balanced Scorecard, keypriorities and strategic plan
  • Directs and implements evidencedbased strategies to transform care delivery and attain optimaloutcomes
  • In partnership, implements, facilitates, measures,evaluates clinical quality initiatives including both process andoutcome measures
  • Analyzes data and partners to compose actionableprocess improvement, status reports and data driven presentationsto share with both leaders and staff Collaborates with the ClinicalLogistics Center to open isolation beds, to expedite and prioritizerooms, ensuring there are limited blocked beds, working with unitsto ensure samples are collected and resulted in a timely manner tomaximize capacity, manage 1:1 patient observation resources andcommunicate potential downgrades in the ICUs and goals of carechanges.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • 3 years of acute carecharge or supervisory experience required
  • Critical care oremergency department nursing experience may be required in acutecare environments
  • Progressive leadership experience
  • ActiveRegistered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed formthe American Heart Association (AHA)
