Growing together. The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is oftenserving as the first point of contact for patients in preparationof upcoming appointments, this position requires excellent customerservice and attention to detail. The Associate Patient CareCoordinator is responsible for the accurate and efficientpre-registration of patients by updating patient demographic andinsurance information, in advance of the date of service. Employeesare required to work our normal business hours of 8:30am-5:00pmEST, Monday
- Friday. Our office is located at 43 Whiting Hill RoadBrewer, ME 04412. We offer 3-6 weeks of paid training. The hoursduring training will be 8:00am to 4:30pm EST, Monday
- Friday.
Training will be conducted onsite (timing varies).
PrimaryResponsibilities:
- Ensures excellent customer service whenassisting patients, providers, and other departments over the phoneor in person
- Collects and verifies patient demographic andinsurance information, making changes as necessary to ensureaccuracy within each encounter
- Engages other departments toassist with patient questions or needs
- Facilitates conversationswith patients to provide benefit information and collects copays orother patient liabilities due, prior to service
- Remains aware ofdepartment service level, abandonment rates and other measurabledata and individual contributions to the overall metrics
- Meets/exceeds department defined productivity and audit goals andupholds all department policies and procedures
- Escalatesoutstanding needs to department leadership to ensurepre-registration and financial clearance functions occur prior toservice date, expediting patient service and assisting with smoothand on time starts
- Verifies insurance coverage and benefits,updating the encounter appropriately

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 6months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting(over the phone or face to face), phone support role, or callcenter environment
- Beginner level of proficiency with computerand Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learnnew and complex computer system applications
- Influenzavaccination for the current flu season (typically August-May) orcommitment to receive the influenza vaccination when available forthe upcoming flu season
- Ability to work on a full-time basisbetween the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm Monday
- Friday
- 18 years ofage or older
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 years of registrationexperience in a hospital or medical setting
- Understanding ofmedical terminology
- Working knowledge of insurance policies andprocedures and patient care settings
- Previously worked forNorthern Light Health

The sign-on bonus is onlyavailable to external candidates. Thesalary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based onfull-time employment.
