Summary:

In collaboration with the Ambulatory Specialties Service Line Director, is responsible for the direct management and supervision of the day-to-day operations of York Hospital Ambulatory Specialties practices in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Provider Operating Committee of York Hospital. Along with the Ambulatory Specialties Service Line Director and with the Physician Lead of each practice is the vital link between the mission and vision of YH and the delivery of safe patient and family-centered care that is compassionate, timely, effective, efficient, and of the highest quality and patient experience. The Ambulatory Specialties Practice Coordinator is creative, autonomous, and future-oriented, ing critical thinking and effective leadership and management skills to ensure quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals daily. The Ambulatory Specialties Practice Coordinator is a visible, accessible and approachable resource and serves as a role model of professionalism and dedication to the highest levels of patient care and safety. Through close collaboration with teams and individuals, they raise performance and helps to strengthen our service-based culture and strong sense of collaborative unity throughout the organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operational:
  • Facilities management and the daily operations; includes support of physicians, advance practice providers and support staff in multiple practice locations.
  • In collaboration with the Ambulatory Specialties Service Line Director, hires, coaches/trains, and evaluates practice support staff.

Engages in staff development, providing general in-services as well as individual instruction and orientation. Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. Creates and maintains staff accountability within the Practice setting.

  • In collaboration with the Ambulatory Specialties Service Line Director, participates in performance evaluations of both non-clinical and clinical staff in conjunction with Lead Providers.
  • Contributes to the budgeting process for the practice(s), plans for capital needs, practice development, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensures effective appointment scheduling and efficient workflow to maximize provider productivity and patient access.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Hospital’s financial goals and initiatives and manages the practices in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Works collaboratively with practice physicians/providers and department leadership in developing solutions to operating challenges.
  • Ensures that practice(s) implement and maintain successful strategies in relation to York Hospital Patient Satisfaction and Quality standards and goals.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, department leadership and all staff on developing initiatives to further York Hospital’s strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamics of a constantly changing health care environment and practice setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or equivalent degree is required.

A master’s degree is preferred. Experience & Skills 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare management. Previous operational leadership experience in outpatient practice or specialty facility Demonstrated track record in providing successful leadership and management in a physician/hospital organization.
