St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO The Admitting Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the admissions department within a healthcare facility in Missouri. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities related to patient admissions, registration, and insurance verification, ensuring a seamless and patient-friendly experience. The Admitting Manager collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize processes, improve patient satisfaction, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/ Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the admissions department, ensuring efficient workflow.
Manage patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-admission procedures.
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient transitions and maintain timely admissions.
Train, mentor, and evaluate the admissions team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance department efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Monitor and analyze admission metrics, providing reports to senior management for strategic planning.
Address and resolve patient concerns and billing issues promptly and effectively. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
You must have:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelors degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred.
Three to Five years experience as a supervisor/ manager in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws.
Strong organizational skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administrations.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
