In addition to the pay regular rate, there is a $500 addition to pay per pay period when responsible for taking call. Examples of Duties Accountable for a defined functional area of the Corrections Medicine operations, serving both Buzz Westfall Justice Center and the St. Louis County Family Courts Juvenile Detention Center. Participate in the rotation of the on-call phone every other week. Oversee staff, driving consistency in interviewing candidates, managing staff, delivering corrective action plans, and other personnel needs. Coordinate with Department Leadership to establish, interpret, and administer policies and procedures. Participate in fiscal management, contributing to the budget definition, maintaining records, delivering reports, and approving purchases related to the scope of oversight. Recommend, design, and implement initiatives to improve as related to the scope of oversight and interfaces with other functional areas. Perform related work as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Must be able to push a medication cart weighing approximately 200lbs. Must be able to climb up and down stairs. Must be able to administer CPR Must be able to lift, pull, push, and transfer patients as needed. Must be able to bend over for extended periods of time to perform dressing changes. Must be able to work all shifts in all clinical areas; as needed. Additional Information
SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT
: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant’s education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. Responses provided to the interview questions listed under the Supplemental Question heading of this posting will comprise 100% of the applicant’s earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. Once questions are scored, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.

New employees must be fully vaccinated prior to starting service for the Department, and adherence to this policy is a condition of employment. St. Louis County offers its employees many excellent benefits with paid medical insurance, 20 days of PTO (paid time off) the first year and increasing with seniority, and 11-12 paid holidays. Employees hired for full time employment will participate in the St. Louis County retirement plan where they contribute 4% of their salary to the defined benefit plan with vesting after 7 years.
