- Responsible for the health record coding program and assures th the facility fully accounts for workloads in a timely, accure manner.
- Provide detailed technical expertise in health records science and other technical aspects of health informion.
- Maintains all health informion input into the local VistA dabase.
- Serves on a multidisciplinary revenue team.
- Provides expertise on billing actions to improve collections.
- Responsible for genering revenue to the institution via the budget process and through billing of third party payers.
- Recommends improvements in documention systems used to provide pient care.
- Key advisor to the Chief of Staff, Executive Management, and clinicians.
- Provides technical guidance on health informion issues.
- Completes internal quality assurance reviews.
- Member of the QI team, works closely with QI personnel, and is responsible for assuring th the facility is in compliance with all Joint Commission standards regarding health informion.
- Responsible for assuring th all pients have a complete record of their medical care the facility.
- Responsible for leading the automion of all health informion systems.
- Conducts training programs in health record science, medical terminology, health record documention, and medico-legal mters.
- Coordines health informion training for medical school students and residents to achieve conformance.
- Provides direct support to Regional Counsel.
- Supervises all personnel working within the Health Informion Program.
