• Responsible for the health record coding program and assures th the facility fully accounts for workloads in a timely, accure manner.
• Provide detailed technical expertise in health records science and other technical aspects of health informion.
• Maintains all health informion input into the local VistA dabase.
• Serves on a multidisciplinary revenue team.
• Provides expertise on billing actions to improve collections.
• Responsible for genering revenue to the institution via the budget process and through billing of third party payers.
• Recommends improvements in documention systems used to provide pient care.
• Key advisor to the Chief of Staff, Executive Management, and clinicians.
• Provides technical guidance on health informion issues.
• Completes internal quality assurance reviews.
• Member of the QI team, works closely with QI personnel, and is responsible for assuring th the facility is in compliance with all Joint Commission standards regarding health informion.
• Responsible for assuring th all pients have a complete record of their medical care the facility.
