Summary
Ensures that patients are admitted timely and that patient demographic data is accurate and complete. Responsible to ensure third party insurance is verified in a timely manner. Ensures that Consents/Authorizations are signed appropriate to Admissions status (voluntary or involuntary). Effectively utilizes crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
Supervisory experience required. Additional specialized training preferred. Three years clinical experience required. Knowledge of third party payer procedures required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Possesses effective time management and organizational skills. Must possess unrestricted NCI Certification upon completion of training. General computer competency required. Must possess knowledge and understanding of psychiatric patients and their needs.
Position requires bending, prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Must possess visual and auditory acuity for observation and manual dexterity for computer use and documentation. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
