Job Summary:
Define processes, procedures and quality standards for all personnel engaged in performing sterile processing procedures at CaroMont. Develop, implement, and facilitate procedures for surgical instrument set processing to include the development and writing of standard work. Manage, coordinate, perform, train, and supervise all processes related to decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments in accordance with established standards. Define and implement Quality standards for the department. Ensure that employees are professionally trained and operate within the guidelines set forth by industry standards, regulatory agencies, and those of CaroMont Health. Perform administrative duties related to department performance, quality assurance and education/training of employees. Works collaboratively with surgical and clinical staff to ensure that surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are prepared and ready so that surgical cases can operate efficiently and on time. This position is a leadership role and has supervisory responsibilities. Effective communication with staff, teaching, coaching, mentoring, positively influencing Sterile Processing employees as well as role modeling service excellence and customer service is an integral component of this position.
Qualifications:
Associate (2-yeare college) Degree required, preferably in a healthcare or education related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of documented leadership and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably in Sterile Processing or a surgical setting. Management/leadership experience as well as experience in an educational role in a surgical setting required. Must have two or more of the following certifications: CBSPD, CRCST, CIS, CER, CHL, or equivalent. Must demonstrate effective leadership skills. Must have considerable ability to manage, educate and motivate people. Ability to define, organize and implement work processes. Ability to communicate effectively.
