Description of Work Central Regional Hospital We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician Lead position at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Clinic/Transportation Unit. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and assist in the evaluation of the transportation requirements and needs. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Coordinate the scheduling of staff to internal clinics/appointments and external facility sanctioned trips and appointments. Monitor staff compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Ensure adequate EMT coverage and assigns EMT staff trips daily. In coordination with management this position assesses performance of department and employees, communicates areas for performance improvement to supervisor and implements performance improvement plans to address performance issues.
Participate and assist in the hiring process of new EMT staff. Collaborate with clinic schedulers, departments and facilities to confirm patient trips and appointments.
Meet regularly with staff to communicate policy and procedure changes.
Maintain necessary reports related to external/internal trips.
Schedule staff to attend mandatory training (including annual competencies.) Monitor and ensure compliance of vehicles and staff with all state, federal and accrediting agencies.
Assist with job related orientation for new EMTs.
Demonstrate concern and courtesy for internal and external customers.
Demonstrate respect for individual and cultural differences. Identify the needs of the internal and external customers and responds appropriately
All healthcare duties are delegated by and completed under the supervisor of a Licensed Nurse.
The normal working hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. This position is considered essential, and employees will be expected to work during adverse weather events. Managment prefers previous lead/mentor/supervisor experience.
