ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify Insurance coverage with patients and refer to pre-authorization pool; Perform pre-certifications as needed; Enter all data into the EMR; Meet with patients or contact Patient’s to schedule MRI and advise patient of the time and location of appointment; Make follow-up calls to referring MD offices to ensure patients have been scheduled for an appointment; May Contact Primary Care Physician to obtain PCP to obtain referral, if needed; Submit referrals to outside physician’s office and supply needed medical records; Correct errors of MRI orders and Insurance information in system if needed; Research additional information needed, have patients chart updated with appropriate information; Answering incoming calls and respond to voice mail messages; obtain demographic information, schedule appointments with patients; Responds to requests and provides copies of x-rays and/or MRI’s; Other duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES
Ability to operate a telephone, fax machine, photocopier, and personal computer including proficiency in windows based computer system; Must adhere to strict patient confidentiality code; Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; Ability to be detail oriented while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks; EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of relevant experience in a medical office setting; orthopedic experience preferred; Understanding of medical terminology; Knowledge of commercial insurance carriers’ guidelines and criteria of verification, authorization and reimbursement desired;
