Patient Care Coordinator Legacy Oral & Facial Surgery 1431 Fern Creek Drive, Statesville, NC 28625
Overview:
Legacy Oral and Facial Surgery is seeking a professional, courteous, and self-motivated Patient Care Coordinator to manage front-office operations and deliver an exceptional patient experience. This role involves welcoming patients, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and managing financial interactions.
Essential Duties:
Serve as the first point of contact, answering phone calls and addressing patient requests, concerns, and needs in a professional, friendly manner. Triage patient inquiries and escalate issues to the Practice Manager when necessary. Review and discuss treatment plans, insurance coverage, and patient balances to ensure patients understand their financial responsibilities. Accurately determine and document co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses for patients’ upcoming appointments. Process and record payments made in person, by mail, or over the phone. Present payment options to patients and arrange payment plans according to practice protocols. Monitor and optimize the daily schedule for efficiency and productivity, coordinating both Doctor and hygiene schedules to meet utilization goals. Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled for all hygiene patients and update records as needed. Maintain continuing care and overdue treatment lists, scheduling preauthorized treatment promptly once insurance approvals are received. Verify that all necessary radiographs, lab cases, paperwork, and patient information are complete and up-to-date before appointments. Ensure any required medical clearances are obtained prior to patient appointments. Send requested records to patients and update patient files. Check in lab cases and update records with relevant information. Support the Team Lead with additional administrative tasks as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
Must be willing to complete a background check. Professional, courteous, self-motivated, and a team player with excellent communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and flexible. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling 30+ patients per day. Strong work ethic, dedicated, and punctual. Experience in the dental or oral surgery field, with knowledge of insurance, OMSVision, and Office365.

Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
