The Referral Coordinator isresponsible for the coordination, processing, obtaining priorauthorizations, and requesting reports for a variety of medicalreferrals for services/procedures as requested by medicalproviders. The Referral Coordinator will also collaborate withother referral staff, medical providers, and patient care supportstaff to effectively communicate and ensure successful tracking andcoordination of referrals. COMPANY DESCRIPTIONFrye Regional MedicalCenter, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility andmore than 70 primary and specialty care providers. EssentialFunctions Gathers pertinent information as needed via EHR or fromclinical team to accurately complete pre-authorization/referralprocess. Answers, responds and documents phone calls, requests andquestions from patients in a timely manner; reviews details andexpectations about referrals with patients. Utilizes third party payer/insurance portals as needed. Cross trains with other Referral Coordinators to learn eachprocess related to the various service lines provided by company tocompletely ensure coverage is available.
