Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary:

Provides excellent customer service and service recovery. Responsible for effective and professional communication via telephone, patient call bells and face to face interactions with patients, families, visitors and staff. The Health Unit Coordinator is the hub of communication for the safety of the patient. Effectively multitasks which includes answering call lights, answering phones, maintains accurate computer skills, etc. Assists with unit projects.
What qualifications you will need:

Required Education:

High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred Education:

Courses in medical terminology preferred. Comparable experience and skills also considered.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience typing or with computers preferred
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson and the surrounding counties. Located between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has more than 24 beds for acute care services and 80+ beds in the Eckerd Living Center.
