Healthy Opportunities Coordinator and Victim AdvocateReports To:

Assistant Director and Executive Director

  • Training:
  • 20-hr Crisis Counseling/Dynamics of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training offered by REACH of Macon County and training specific to Medicaid billing and Healthy Opportunities initiatives.
  • Benefits:

  • Project Work Description:
  • Provide direct client services, including intakes, supportive counseling, accessing needs, information and referrals, goal setting, case management, and transportation as needed
  • Assist clients in navigating Medicaid services, including referrals to Healthy Opportunities programs that address social determinants of health such as housing, food access, transportation, and interpersonal safety
  • Collaborate with medical providers and Medicaid partners to ensure seamless service delivery and billing for approved services
  • Responsible for all Medicaid billing for HOP services including IPV Case Management Services
  • Provide information, accompaniment, and assistance with Victim Compensation and other court advocacy duties as needed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all project activities, with a focus on integrating victim advocacy with Healthy Opportunities initiatives
  • Facilitate coordination of community collaboration on behalf of this project, including partnerships with healthcare providers and social service organizations
  • Conduct research, develop, and distribute informational and outreach materials specific to victim services and Medicaid Healthy Opportunities programs
  • Receive and provide training to project staff on best practices in victim services, Medicaid billing, and addressing social determinants of health
  • Train and supervise project volunteers in both victim advocacy and Healthy Opportunities programming
  • Document client files, statistics, and other necessary programmatic information to ensure compliance with Medicaid and organizational standards
  • Cover Hotline services, crisis counseling, information/referrals, victim compensation assistance, and peer support groups.
  • Skills/Qualifications:
  • Friendly and patient personality
  • Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Medicaid programs and social determinants of health
  • Familiarity with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and PPT
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions
  • Experience in human relations or social services preferred
