The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Clinical Director to our claim’s organization. This role will be remote, or hybrid based on the proximity to Charlotte or Omaha.
As a Clinical Director, you will provide leadership and direction to drive results for clinical organization with a focus on operational effectiveness, quality, and collaboration between internal stakeholders. You will oversee and provide direction on all aspects of various assigned complex transformational projects within the clinical organization, with a focus on operational planning, transformational segmentation alignment, organizational efficiency and effectiveness, resource optimization, and operational resources & technology. You will also function as a partner to senior leaders and internal/external stakeholders to advise on new & enhanced processes & tools to deliver best-in-class clinical model.
What you’ll be doing

  • Leads transformational initiatives pertaining to the clinical organization, including the oversight and execution of approved decisions that enhance the internal and external customer experience.
  • Directs business organizational readiness planning and execution for new and ongoing projects/process enhancements that lead to an overall effective operation.
  • Conducts industry research to continually benchmark productive, quality and process improvements to enhance the customer experience. Provides senior leadership with a summary of research; makes and executes recommendations enhance process improvements and bring new insight into transformation the clinical market story.
  • Partners with other relevant functions to enable the clinical area to be a valued thought partner for other business areas to support the mission of maximizing service capability & delivery.
  • Lead project resource and process function by acting as the point of contact for internal/external stakeholders that require collaboration with resources from clinical and claims.
  • Directs operational workforce & volume analysis, including analysis for multiple operational products, segments, and/or systems. Ensures staff is allocated to effectively load balance/optimize inventory management and process efficiencies.
  • Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates workflow of employees responsible for analyzing clinical trends, including work volume and patterns, staff productivity, attrition rates, and resource allocation.
  • In collaboration with senior leaders, establishes & defines objectives focused on customer service & operational effectiveness. Leads resources in gathering analytics to explain drivers of gaps & service successes.
  • Leads the development of metrics, tracking tools, and/or reporting to facilitate the evaluation of inventory management, productivity, and operational effectiveness to key stakeholders.
  • Drives cross-functional team(s) to continually monitor service & productivity data/metrics to implement and/or further enhance tools & resources.
  • Leads the development of change management plans, including communications & trainings for applicable stakeholders, to ensure new & enhanced processes & tools are well-understood and effectively implemented & utilized.
  • Directs and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility by holding the team accountable for their results.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of 7 Clinical Managers.
  • Creating a strategic roadmap to transform our clinical organization through process enhancements and creating efficiencies to be a market leader.
  • Lead a clinical organization that drives consistent communication, accountability, innovation, and strategic visionary.
  • Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assessing impact, and collaborating with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
  • Collaborate effectively with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate training gaps and establish a training curriculum and medical protocols to establish best practices on clinical movement in claims.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:
  • 4 Year/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) (Minimum Required)
  • 7+ years of operations/clinical expertise (RN or BHC) and/or business process experience directly aligned to the specific duties for this role, including 5+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required)

The pay range for this position is $93,300 – $169,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
