Role Overview:
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our daily operations related to patient care. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and effective management of all administrative processes.
Your tasks will include:
Scheduling appointments and managing the client and team calendars. Supporting clinical providers to deliver optimal patient care. Managing/triaging incoming phone calls and providing front-line support. Conducting initial client screenings and coordinating appropriate referrals. Greeting and assisting office patients, and addressing patient calls, emails, and questions. Coordinating admissions and insurance paperwork, including verifications of benefits. Managing patient charts/accounts confidentially. Discussing cost of services, insurance coverage, and payment options with patients. Obtaining prior authorizations for treatments and prescriptions as needed. Maintaining patient confidentiality and managing information releases. Providing community resources and referrals for continuing care. Participating in marketing activities as needed. Implementing policies and procedures to improve day-to-day operations. Ensuring compliance with NC DHSR, The Joint Commission, and health insurance standards. Managing interoffice and outgoing referrals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience. Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Understanding and working knowledge of psychiatric continuum of care.
Competencies:
Excellent customer and patient service skills. Strong organizational and administrative abilities. Proficiency with G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
