STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR – RN
Full Time Job Description:

Coordinates the staff development program for theFacility. Acts as personnel health nurse for Facility. Provides orientation for all employees following theorientation policy and outline. Conducts blood borne pathogens training for all new employeesand presents updates to staff. Conducts hazard communication standards training for all newemployees and presents updates to all staff at leastyearly. Acts as the primary instructor for the Nurse Aide TrainingProgram as approved by DFS, as necessary. Posts workshops, hospital in-service or continuing educationclasses pertinent to staff and encourages attendance andparticipation. Coordinates, schedules and directs in-house in-service for allstaff. Assists other Nursing Management Team as directed by theDirector of Nursing in reviewing incident reports. Works as charge nurse and/or supervisor as needed in nursingemergencies.

Job Requirements:

Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School ofNursing with a current, valid RN license from the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing. Five years of nursing experience in a long term care setting,and/or nursing education experience. Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and genuineinterest in geriatric nursing. CPR certified yearly. Ability to supervise nursing staff, assuring that workassignments are completed appropriately and timely. Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems. Ability to teach, instruct and direct orientation, continuingeducation, and in-services.
