Job Summary:
Due to growth, HonorBridge is recruiting for an Organ Administrator on Call (AOC). The AOC facilitates organ donation in the HonorBridge service area by providing oversight and direction for clinical activity related to incoming or import organ referrals and all aspects of local organ donation. Responsibilities for this position include allocation of HonorBridge staff to complete clinical activities and direct communication with HonorBridge staff, local and non-local surgical teams, and hospital representatives. Responsibilities for this position include allocation of HonorBridge staff to complete clinical activities and direct communication with HonorBridge staff, local and non-local surgical teams, and hospital representatives. This is a remote working opportunity. Residents of NC or future residents of NC will be considered only. This position will require 24 hour shifts that rotate days, nights, weekends, and some Holidays. Adheres to HonorBridge’s policies, procedures, and standards. Builds caring and compassionate relationships. Consistently demonstrates effective communication. Promotes teamwork to ensure success at HonorBridge. Facilitates organ donation by serving as the organ administrator on call to provide oversight and support of clinical activities. Ensures appropriate staffing for clinical activity utilizing the on-call schedule and by contacting staff not on-call as needed. Utilizes hours reports, location, and downtime to determine staff activation from available on-call personnel. Serves as a clinical and administrative resource for on-call personnel. Directs and maximizes organ donation process. Monitors organ recovery process for completion in accordance with HonorBridge and Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network policy Communicates information to surgeons, the Executive On-Call, HonorBridge staff, management, and Medical Director as needed. Reports personnel issues to the appropriate manager Reviews and completes documentation accurately. Follows HonorBridge policy and procedures. Reviews donor chart (LifeLogics True North) and DonorNet documentation as case is in progress. Completes and documents the AOC check when notified by Organ Donation Coordinator before match runs are generated and organ allocation begins. Reviews current active referrals, donor documentation, and import cases at regular intervals. Participates in meetings related to clinical activity by conference call, webinar, or in person, when available. These include weekly case review calls (MMCC), internal after-action reviews, HonorBridge staff meetings, organ division meetings, educational events, and others as requested. Provides follow-up and education about clinical issues both internally and externally. Collaborates with colleagues to complete the monthly AOC schedule. Participates in regular meetings for organ AOCs as needed. Actively assists with the HonorBridge quality assurance process. Strives to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with all levels of HonorBridge staff and leadership, hospital personnel and medical staff on a continual basis. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, occasional lifting up to thirty pounds, finger dexterity, hand eye coordination, and visual acuity.
Work Environment:
Full-time position working from home or remotely with reliable cell phone and Internet access required, extensive on-call responsibilities to include weekends, holidays, and 24-hour shifts.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a concentration in healthcare. CPTC certification required. Four years’ clinical experience in organ recovery strongly preferred. Critical care experience preferred. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated ability to manage stress. Demonstrated ability to function in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of operating room environment Experience in form completion and documentation, ability to use computers and cellular phones.
