General Summary of Duties:
The Patient Services Coordinator serves as the lead for the patient services team with additional responsibilities to include coordinating facility maintenance and delivering IT support.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Greet and assist patients and visitors with professionalism. Check-in patients to include verifying demographics, insurance information, obtaining required paperwork and necessary documents. Check-out patients ensuring all charges are entered into the EMR and any patient financial responsibility has been collected. Process and complete incoming referrals. Ensure courier boxes are packed and/or unloaded daily. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office lobby. Complete end of day tasks to include checking daily report, balancing cash drawer, printing schedules for the following business day, and securing premises. Oversee monthly product inventory including reconciliation. Handle daily financial responsibilities, including money change orders. Assist in crisis or emergent situations. Complete audit and compliance tasks. Coach patient service representatives to maintain high performance standards. Act as the point of contact between staff and leadership promoting a cohesive team environment. Responsible for the weekly office supply order, including placing, receiving and organizing supply storage. Coordinate technical support services, including troubleshooting and resolution of IT issues. Perform monthly HIPAA compliance initiatives and report findings to the direct manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principles and policies of Dermatology Group of the Carolinas. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, critically think and assess situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Computer knowledge and proficiency. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to mentor and support team members. Effectively manages in a fast-paced environment. Willing to travel between locations, as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of medical office experience required. Prior leadership experience preferred.
