The Johnston County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for a Licensed Clinical Supervisor (LCSW) position who will supervise the Clinical Team. Duties and Responsibilities The Clinical Social Work Supervisor will oversee and supervise a team of four Licensed Clinical Social Workers and one Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist who provides clinical services to youth who have experienced trauma, abuse and or neglect. Clinicians also provide mental health services to adults involved with the agency. Clinicians perform crisis intervention, address neglect and dependency issues to prevent foster care placement and assist with psychological evaluations as needed for children and families during the involvement of children or adult cases. Responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations and administration of clinical staff, which consist of supervising licensed staff through case reviews and consultation who provide intensive clinical services to youth who suffer from mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, sexualize behavior, emotional and behavioral discord, using different modalities of treatment. The supervisor will assign cases to staff, coordinate workflow operations, develop and implement treatment plans for customers based on clinical assessments, monitor and evaluate staff performance, provide regular feedback, ensure accurate documentation and record keeping of all clinical activities, coordinate with other departments to ensure integrated service delivery. The supervisor will also be required to stay abreast and adhere to policy, handle escalated clinical issues and customer complaints, track and report on clinical metrics and outcomes, recruit, hire and onboard new clinical staff, and maintain up to date knowledge of best practices and industry standards. Staff are also required to complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCA) for the customers assigned to their caseload. Collaborate with community partners, to identify gaps in services provided, attend Child and Family Team meetings, testify in court and assist with the coordinator of services. This position will oversee the agency’s completion of Multiple Disciplinary Evaluations when ordered by the Clerk of Superior Court. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems. Considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavior and psychosocial problems and their diagnosis and treatment. Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics, a range of intervention techniques, governmental and private organizations, resources in the community, laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program, methods and principles of casework supervision and training. In certain settings, considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical or psychological diagnosis. Skill in establishing rapport with a client and in applying techniques or assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client problems. Ability to supervise, train, or instruct staff at the clinical social worker level plus students or interns in the program; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, social workers, clients, and families as well as civic, legal, medical, social, and religious organizations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively. Desired Education and Experience Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Necessary Special Qualification Requirements – Licensure by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
