This position’s work location is onsite(Longwood) with up to one day per week remote. The selectedcandidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT,NH, MA, CT, RI).Pediatric Clinical Lead Social Worker (LICSWRequired): Longwood Exciting opportunity to join the Dana-FarberCancer Institute’s social work leadership team as the pediatricleader in the Jimmy Fund Clinic.

The Pediatric Clinical Lead SocialWorker functions as a clinical supervisor and staff manager, whoseexpertise, knowledge, clinical acumen, relational skill, andequanimity provide foundational support for pediatric clinicalsocial work staff. The Clinical Lead Social Worker is responsiblefor clinical practice and programmatic development of thePsychosocial Oncology and Social Work divisions. The Clinical LeadSocial Worker is also responsible for daily clinical operations inpartnership with the Department Administrative Manager.

ThePediatric Clinical Lead Social Worker will have some directclinical responsibilities that calls for psychosocial assessmentand intervention and ability to work collaboratively with amulti-disciplinary team. Candidate must be able to thrive in a fastpaced, complex, academic medical environment where the socialworker is a key, valued member of the multidisciplinary medicalteam.

This is an opportunity to lead a pediatric social work teamand contribute to the field of pediatric psychosocial care in arenowned cancer center that combines compassionate care with acommitment to be on the forefront of developing new and moreeffective cancer treatments.

Master’s Degree in Social Work from accredited program LICSW in MA (and state specific based on location). 8 years social work practice in health care, minimum of 2 yearsin oncology setting or with pediatric oncology patients, clinicalsupervisory experience required, program or project experiencepreferred. Bilingual a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired Expert knowledge of assessing and addressing pediatric patient,parent/caregiver, sibling’s psychological, social, emotional,practical, and existential distress Expert knowledge of improving pediatric patients’ and families’effective coping skills and adjustment during pivotal transitionpoints: diagnosis, treatment, protocol change, clinical trials,recurrence, end-of-life, and/or grief. Expert knowledge of interdisciplinary teamwork and teamdynamics, scope of key partnerships and interprofessionalroles. Highly skilled at providing consultation to staff and teamaround complex pediatric patient management, including ethicalissues. Expert ability to address problems that are highly varied andcomplex while incorporating interprofessional input and managingteam-related stress. Exhibits emotional intelligence; both awareness of oneself andhow they affect others. Integrates feedback given into actionable behaviors.

Strong organizational skills:

ability to triage, determinepriorities, and role model adaptability and flexibility. Demonstrates initiative to create and achieve goals even whenfaced with barriers. Ability to assist staff with their performance, in accordancewith institutional and departmental standards and policies. Ability to contribute to profession, care, education andtraining through leadership, presentations, publications. Demonstrates commitment to diversity and equity efforts,including advocacy and self-education to advance knowledge base ofthe needs and concerns of underserved and marginalizedpopulations.
