We are seeking a dedicated benefits and prior authorization coordinator to provide professional and educational discussion of financial matters with patient’s providers, family members, and insurers (following HIPA guidelines), in a proactive manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, passion for patient care, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Confirmation of insurance eligibility and benefits and obtaining prior authorization for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and High-Cost Injectable Medication services provided in the office setting. Counseling patients on out-of-pocket responsibilities and collection of patient liability amounts when appropriate. Work directly with provider to clarify and obtain additional clinical or coding information, coordinating peer to peer meetings as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Prior medical office financial counseling, coding and medical office experience required. Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, documentation skills, analyzing information, general math skills. Pleasant demeanor and professional appearance Able to work independently and as part of a team Exceptional customer service skills and ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations. Excellent communication, telephone typing and computer skills High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred
