Hospitality Supervisor University System of New Hampshire Durham, NH USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Responsible for the supervision of all aspects of a high-volume food service operation. Duties include training/coaching of staff, interactions with guests, and evaluation of personnel, products, and equipment. Maintaining multiple concepts and supervision of staff. This is an essential staff position in Hospitality Services and is necessary for food production/service operations through weather or other emergency conditions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a liaison for management, delegation of tasks and proper preparation of service areas to ensure guest service is at the highest levels obtainable. Supervise/coordinate assigned staff and participate as needed in food service activities, including preparation, handling and service of food items in several concepts simultaneously. Responsible for coaching and disciplining non- student and student staff through the shift. Train, schedule, and evaluate assigned staff on work to be performed. Ensure that what is being served matches the nutritional information on the menu boards and communicate the need for corrections to the management/culinary team. Assume responsibility for covering/correcting staffing shortages, operational issues and performance issues of assigned staff. Ensure that food supplies, utensils, and event signage necessary for efficient operation are available and the equipment is functioning properly. Guarantee that food is served at a proper temperature and safely handled until consumed, stored or discarded. Maintain necessary service records, temperature logs and other records/reports. Responsible for annual review writing for operating and adjunct staff. May be responsible for finalizing student payroll and timecard record keeping. Perform other duties as assigned. Based on business needs, position will be required to assist with production and service requirements, as necessary.
Acceptable minimum level of education:
HS or equivalent Acceptable minimum years of experience: 3 years Other minimum qualifications High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in a food service operation. Knowledge of food service techniques, sanitation and safety. Two years related supervisory experience. Strong interpersonal abilities. Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary. Additional Preferred Qualifications Experience in a college/university environment. Serv-Safe Certified or the ability to become certified within 6 months. Public speaking/presentation skills. Cash handling experience. Comfortable with Microsoft Office software package (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
