Job Summary:
This position oversees and manages accreditation and compliance activities for our pharmacy services, with a focus on Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC)standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our specialty and infusion pharmacy operations meet and exceed regulatory and accreditation requirements, while also supporting performance improvement and quality initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage all ACHC and URAC accreditation activities for specialty pharmacy and home infusion services, including initial applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance. 2. Interpret accreditation standards and implement them across departments, ensuring readiness through policy development, internal audits, and mock surveys. 3. Serve as the primary liaison with accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies, managing communications, RFIs, and follow-up meetings. 4. Develop and maintain accreditation documentation, including policies, procedures, scoring sheets, and submission histories, ensuring version control and proper citation. 5. Train and educate pharmacy and nursing staff on accreditation standards, compliance expectations, and quality improvement initiatives. 6. Monitor regulatory and accreditation updates, communicating changes and ensuring timely adjustments to internal processes. 7. Utilize platforms like AccreditNet to manage submissions, track deficiencies, and upload supporting documentation. 8. Lead quality improvement efforts, including data collection, analysis of performance metrics, and collaboration with clinical leadership. 9. Prepare and distribute Quality Management Committee (QMC) reports, including trend analyses, action items, and accreditation-ready documentation. 10. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and translate operational data into formal documentation for accreditation purposes. 11. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements and Qualifications Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from an accredited institution. Experience Minimum (1) year of experience in pharmacy accreditation and compliance, with direct experience in ACHC and URAC processes. Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, specialty pharmacy operations, and accreditation requirements. Certifications or Licenses National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM), or other relevant credentials preferred
Skill and Competencies:
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management systems Demonstrate initiative and skill in planning and organizing work. Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior. Conduct work with minimal supervision and is self-directed. Exhibit critical thinking abilities and applies them for continuous improvement of services. Demonstrate self-confidence and ability to think conceptually in leading and directing others.
